Mexican low-cost carrier, Volaris is planning to add seven new nonstop routes from Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) to destinations across the United States.
The proposed new routes include:
- Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS)
- Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
- Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP)
- Nashville International Airport (BNA)
- Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)
- Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU)
- Tampa International Airport (TPA)
If approved, the expansion would further strengthen Guadalajara’s role as one of Volaris’ largest hubs while adding new nonstop options for travelers between western Mexico and several major US metropolitan areas. The proposed routes would enhance connectivity for both leisure and visiting friends and relatives (VFR) travel, while also providing additional competition in several underserved US-Mexico markets.
Anthony’s Take: Volaris has not yet announced planned launch dates or flight frequencies and all seven routes remain subject to regulatory approval.
