The Standard Hotels were founded in 1999 by hotelier André Balazs. The Standard Hotels are said to have revolutionized the hospitality industry by creating the “affordable luxury” lifestyle segment. Hyatt acquired the brand in 2024 and has added it the World of Hyatt® program. There are currently 15 properties under this flag. This includes two under its “rebellious younger sibling” known as The StandardX.
