Google Flights is my go-to starting point when planning a trip. Since I fly American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines pretty evenly, it’s good to see who has the best schedule and prices. Google is now expanding its travel planning tools by introducing AI-powered searches that let users find flights and hotels bookable with loyalty points directly through AI Mode.
The new feature allows travelers to search for award availability using natural language. Users can specify their destination, travel dates, and preferred loyalty program. AI Mode will display eligible redemption options using real-time award pricing. Once a selection is made, travelers are directed to the airline or hotel’s website to complete the booking.
The feature launches with support for Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards and American Airlines AAdvantage. Google says additional airline programs (including Air France-KLM Flying Blue, LATAM Pass, and Lufthansa Miles & More) will be added in the near future.
Hotel award searches are also available at launch for Choice Privileges, Hilton Honors, and Wyndham Rewards (with ALL – Accor Live Limitless and World of Hyatt expected to join soon).
Google is also enhancing AI Mode with conversational travel planning features. Travelers can now ask the platform to monitor airfare for specific routes and receive email alerts when prices change. The company says flight price tracking is available in more than 180 countries and territories.
On the hotel side, AI Mode can recommend properties based on a traveler’s preferences and guide users through selecting room types, reviewing cancellation policies, and completing bookings. Support for major booking platforms and hotel brands, including Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Expedia, Booking.com, Priceline, Trip.com, and Hotels.com, is expected to roll out in the coming weeks.
Anthony’s Take: The latest updates further expand Google’s AI-powered travel tools by combining award travel searches, price tracking, and hotel booking into a more conversational planning experience.
