My company held an event at The Omni King Edward Hotel and it found me staying at the hotel for two nights while hosting it. While I usually stay at Marriott, Hyatt, or Hilton properties, I was impressed with this hotel and found it worked perfectly for both my event and having a central location downtown.
Anthony’s Take: I enjoyed my stay at The Omni King Edward Hotel and would stay again when in Toronto. As part of the event package booked with the hotel, I was upgraded to a Deluxe Suite. It was well appointed, spacious, and comfortable. Most of my time was spent attending the event, but the hotel is a good choice when in downtown Toronto.

Booking
I was booked into a Deluxe Room and upgraded to a Deluxe Suite, One Bedroom as part of the package. The regular rate was around $339 CAD per night, but we paid slightly less than that. I also joined Omni’s Select Guest with this stay (as I am always going to earn points when I can).

Transportation to/from the Hotel
I took Uber Black to and from the hotel. It took around 33 minutes for the approximately 16-mile drive and cost around $65 CAD. Going back was a similar time and cost.
Location
The hotel is located not far from The Metro Toronto Convention Centre and many offices, shops, and restaurants. There is plenty easily accessible from the hotel whether you are there on business or for fun.

The lobby is a wide open, multi-floor space with a lot of charm (the hotel opened in 1903).

There is a good amount of seating throughout.

I liked the chess accents. There were also chess sets for guests to play in the lobby.

Check-In
Reception is to the left when entering from the street. I arrived around 3:00 PM and my suite was ready. The agent checking me in was nice and she explained that I had been upgraded to a Deluxe Suite, One Bedroom as part of the group booking. She also said that they had an amenity that they were sending to my suite. I had only just signed up for the loyalty program, but the agent was quick to thank me for being a member and gave me a card for a free drink. Keys were printed and I was on my way a moment later.

Stairs are near reception with the elevators down the hall.

The elevator lobby and hallways on my floor were clean and in good repair.

Deluxe Suite, One Bedroom (833)
There are 301 guest rooms and suites at The Omni King Edward Hotel.

The suite opened with a small foyer.

The first closet was near the door. It held a garment steamer.

Beyond this closet was the living room. A table and chair were closest.

The main area held a couch, coffee table, end tables, and another chair.

A TV was across from the couch.

Bottled water, glasses, and an ice bucket were found here.

An empty refrigerator for guest use was below.

The safe was in the other side of the cabinet.

A desk and chair were also in the living room.

The coffeemaker, mugs, a tea kettle, tea, coffee, and condiments were all found on the desk.

The welcome amenity was delivered shortly after I arrived. Beer and olives are not my faves.

The bedroom was off of the living room. It held a king-sized bed, nightstands, a dresser, and a TV.

The TV was across from the bed.

A dresser was on another wall.

Two closets were in the bedroom. They held a luggage rack, robes, slippers, extra blankets, and an extra pillow.

The bathroom was spacious and included a vanity with a single sink, a toilet, and a glassed-in shower.

The vanity offered a good amount of counter space.

Bottles of GILCHRIST & SOAMES® body lotion and hand wash were on the counter.

A bar of soap was next to the sink.

Some other amenities were also on the counter.

The toilet was positioned next to the vanity. There was a good amount of room around it.

The shower was a standard size. The water temperature and pressure were both good.

Large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were mounted to the wall.

Public Areas & Amenities
The hotel has Mokara Spa, Qi Hair Salon, a fitness center, Wi-Fi, a bar and restaurant, and lots of meeting and event space.

The spa is on the second floor.

The fitness center offered a good assortment of equipment.
Overall Impression:
The Omni King Edward Hotel is an old grand dame that is being kept in great condition, The service and accommodations were solid and I know I’ll be back.
