Hyatt has announced plans to bring its Hyatt Regency brand to Armenia for the first time with the signing of a franchise agreement for Hyatt Regency Dilijan, a new full-service hotel that will anchor a major mixed-use development in the country’s popular mountain resort town.
Developed by Green Rock LLC, the hotel is expected to feature 205 guestrooms and suites, multiple restaurants and bars, a 32,000-square-foot wellness center with a spa, a fitness center, and an outdoor pool along with family entertainment facilities. A conference center capable of hosting more than 550 guests will position the property as a destination for meetings, weddings, and events.
Located about 90 minutes from Yerevan and 3.5 hours from Tbilisi, the hotel will also include a rooftop helipad to improve accessibility for travelers. The Hyatt Regency Dilijan will be part of a larger 462,000-square-foot development that includes retail, dining, community spaces, and future attractions such as a music hall and art park to support Dilijan’s growth as a year-round tourism and lifestyle destination.
The project is also expected to create more than 400 jobs across hospitality, food and beverage, wellness, engineering, and hotel operations, contributing to the region’s long-term economic development.
Anthony’s Take: Hyatt has not yet announced a timeline for the hotel’s opening. The renderings of the property look nice and this is a country that I have never visited.
