Air Canada’s Aeroplan and World of Hyatt® have launched a new loyalty partnership that gives members more ways to earn, redeem, and transfer points while unlocking reciprocal elite perks across both programs. The collaboration brings together two of the travel industry’s most popular loyalty programs and allows members to link their accounts and enjoy enhanced benefits across Air Canada’s global route network and Hyatt’s portfolio of more than 1,500 hotels and resorts.
The partnership introduces several new ways for members to use their rewards:
- Aeroplan members can now redeem points for World of Hyatt® Free Night Awards at eligible Hyatt properties, including Category 1-4 and Category 1-7 certificates, starting at 25,000 Aeroplan points.
- World of Hyatt® members can redeem Hyatt points for a 30,000-point Aeroplan flight reward certificate (redeemable on Air Canada and partner airlines).
Members linking their accounts will also gain new earning opportunities. Aeroplan members can choose to earn 500 Aeroplan points per eligible Hyatt stay instead of World of Hyatt® points. In addition, eligible Aeroplan credit cardholders can earn both Hyatt bonus points and Aeroplan points on qualifying Hyatt stays, accelerating rewards in both programs.

Members can also transfer points between the two programs:
- World of Hyatt® points convert to Aeroplan points at a 2:1 ratio (beginning with 5,000 Hyatt points).
- Aeroplan Elite members gain exclusive access to transfer Aeroplan points to World of Hyatt® Bonus Points at the same 2:1 ratio (subject to daily and weekly limits).
One of the biggest benefits of the partnership is reciprocal elite status opportunities. Aeroplan Elite Status members and eligible Aeroplan Premium Credit Cardholders can now participate in a 90-day World of Hyatt® status challenge, earning:
- Discoverist after four qualifying nights
- Explorist after 10 qualifying nights
- Globalist after 20 qualifying nights
Aeroplan Premium Credit Cardholders also receive complimentary World of Hyatt® Discoverist status, five annual Tier-Qualifying Night credits, and two opportunities each year to complete the Hyatt status challenge.
Meanwhile, World of Hyatt® Discoverist, Explorist, and Globalist members who link their accounts will receive an annual $20 CAD Air Canada flight credit. Hyatt Explorist and Globalist members will also gain access later in 2026 to fast-track challenges for Aeroplan Elite Status.
The partnership significantly expands the value proposition for members of both programs to create new opportunities to earn rewards on flights and hotel stays while making it easier to achieve elite status across two leading travel brands.
Anthony’s Take: For travelers who frequently fly Air Canada and stay at Hyatt properties, the collaboration offers one of the most comprehensive airline-hotel loyalty partnerships available today.
