As I first wrote about back in March, Hilton is expanding its global portfolio with the addition of YOTEL, announcing an exclusive franchise agreement that will bring the tech-forward hotel brand into the Hilton ecosystem while launching a new collection known as “Select by Hilton.”

YOTEL becomes the first brand to join Select by Hilton, a newly created platform designed for established hotel brands that will retain their own identity and management while benefiting from Hilton’s global distribution network, technology, and the Hilton Honors loyalty program.

YOTEL Hilton

Founded in London in 2007, YOTEL has built a reputation for its efficient, technology-driven hotels in major cities including New York, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Glasgow, and Singapore. The brand is known for innovative features such as its signature SmartBed™, which transforms from a bed into a sofa at the touch of a button, as well as automated luggage storage and compact, modern room designs.

YOTEL currently operates 23 hotels across 10 countries and has ambitious growth plans, with the company aiming to more than triple its portfolio in the coming years. The transition into Hilton’s portfolio will begin in the coming weeks, with most YOTEL properties expected to join the Hilton system by early September.

As part of the integration, the YOTEL Club loyalty program will begin winding down on July 15th. Existing members will receive personalized invitations to join Hilton Honors, with many eligible for instant or accelerated elite status based on their previous stay history.

Beginning July 15th, Hilton Honors members will also be able to book participating YOTEL hotels and earn and redeem Hilton Honors points while enjoying elite benefits where applicable.

Anthony’s Take: The agreement allows Hilton to strengthen its presence in the fast-growing lifestyle hotel segment while preserving the distinctive YOTEL experience. Guests can expect the same smart design, technology-focused amenities, and service style that have defined the brand, now backed by the reach and rewards of Hilton’s global network.
