A business dinner had me in Boston for a night last month. It had been years since I last stayed at the Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall Boston, so I decided to check it out again. The hotel was close to where I needed to be and worked well for this short trip.
Anthony’s Take: The Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall Boston is well located for both business and leisure travelers. It’s close to the North End, Financial District, Waterfront, TD Garden, and the New England Aquarium. Don’t expect suite upgrades at this hotel because there are none at the property.

Booking
I booked a King Bed room on a “Member Rate” for $502 plus taxes and fees per night. The hotel charges a $35 Destination Fee. This was waived for me as a Globalist and removed from the folio without me having to ask. World of Hyatt® points can be redeemed here for 20,000 to 40,000 points as it falls into Hyatt’s Category 6.

Transportation to/from the Hotel
I took an Uber Comfort from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) for around $38. It took around 11 minutes for the 3.1-mile ride. The return trip the next day cost $34 and took around the same time.

Location
As mentioned, the hotel is located in downtown Boston. I like that it’s not far from some of the best cannoli anywhere (at Mike’s Pastry). It’s easy to get here from the airport and a lot of the sights are within walking distance.

The lobby has a good amount of seating and it just feels cozy in the way that it is arranged.

Check-In
I arrived at the hotel around 3:00 PM and my room was ready. I was upgraded to a High Floor King Bed room. As mentioned, there are no suites at this hotel and this is one of the better upgrades (a Deluxe King is the best as it’s more than 100 square feet larger than the other rooms). The agent checking me in proactively offered me a late checkout (which I did not need and declined) and told me that the room I got was the best available. She did not explain the $35 (including tax) Destination Fee, but this was waived for me as a Globalist. My keys were printed and I was in my room a few minutes later.

Destination Fee
I hate destination fees. These are simply cash grabs for a bunch of stuff that you likely will not use. This one includes:
- Premium Internet Access
- Access to PressReader with access to thousands of publications
- Discount tickets to The Museum of Science (see concierge for details)
- Unlimited bottles of water in lobby
- Discount Passes to New England Aquarium (see concierge for details)
- One Dessert of guests choice at Jules on Devonshire with purchase of entrée.
- One chef selected appetizer or dessert at Chart House with purchase of entrée
- 10% off bookings with Boston Crime and History Tours (see concierge for details)
- Bi-Weekly Historical lobby chats with a local historian on Saturdays from 5-6 PM. Snacks and soft drinks included.
- Welcome drink upon arrival
- 15% off lunch at Jules on Devonshire
- Discount Passes to Boston Childrens Museum (see concierge for details)

Water was found near reception.

The elevators were to the right of the check-in desks.

The elevator lobby and hallways on my floor were clean and in good repair.

High Floor King Bed (1206)
There are 163 guest rooms at the Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall Boston.

The room opened with a small foyer. A full-length mirror was near the door.

The mini-bar and safe were closest to the door. Water, coffee, condiments, cups, an ice bucket, and a coffeemaker were found here.

The refrigerator was empty for guest use.

A wardrobe and luggage storage were nearby. Robes, an iron, and an ironing board were found inside.

The bedroom contained a king-sized bed, two nightstands, a TV, and a chair (not pictured).

The TV was mounted across from the bed.

I liked this fun piece of art.

The room offered this view.

A bottle of Prosecco was sent up as an additional welcome amenity.

The bathroom was also near the entrance. It held a vanity with a single sink, a glassed-in shower, and a toilet.

The vanity and shower filled much of the room.

A bar BeeKind bar soap was on the counter. Lotion was mounted to the wall.

The shower was on the smaller side.

More BeeKind toiletries were mounted in the shower.

Even though the bathroom was not large, the toilet was well spaced.

Public Areas & Amenities
The hotel has a fitness center, a restaurant and bar, as well as a market in the lobby (pictured above).

The restaurant is where breakfast is served. I did not have time to check it out.

The fitness center was an average size with the equipment you’d expect.

I liked that there was a Peloton Bike.

Towels, earbuds, and water were on offer.

Overall Impression:
The hotel was fine for what I needed. I was only in it to sleep and do some work. The location is ideal, just don’t come expecting much in the way of World of Hyatt® elite benefits.
