Founded in Los Angeles in 2008 by hotelier Avi Brosh, Palisociety has built a reputation for design-focused, neighborhood-inspired hotels that emphasize individuality, local culture, and distinctive guest experiences.

The addition aligns closely with Design Hotels’ mission of showcasing independently owned properties with strong design identities and unique storytelling. Design Hotels currently includes more than 300 independent hotels worldwide and is expected to surpass 100 properties across the Americas for the first time this year.
As part of the agreement, the Palisociety properties will gain access to Design Hotels’ marketing, sales, and distribution services, while also joining the Marriott Bonvoy® loyalty program in the coming months. Benefits granted at Design Hotels are limited, but it’s always great to have more options for Marriott loyalists.
Stijn Oyen, Managing Director of Design Hotels, said:
Design Hotels has always been a home for founders, visionaries, and original thinkers. Avi Brosh and Kirsten Leigh Pratt have built Palisociety with the same independent mindset that defines our global community – creating hotels with character, cultural relevance, and a genuine connection to place. The alignment between our brands was immediate. We share a belief that great hospitality is personal, distinctive, and shaped by the people behind it, making this collaboration a natural evolution for both brands.”
Anthony’s Take: The expansion highlights the continued demand for boutique hospitality experiences and further strengthens Marriott’s portfolio of independent and lifestyle-focused hotel brands.
