St. Regis Hotels & Resorts has officially opened The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort, Cancún. It brings a new luxury retreat on Mexico’s Caribbean coast just north of Cancún.

Located in the exclusive Costa Mujeres enclave, the beachfront resort combines contemporary design with inspiration drawn from the Yucatán Peninsula’s rich Maya heritage. Surrounded by white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, protected mangroves, and the world’s second-largest barrier reef, the property aims to offer a more secluded alternative to Cancún’s bustling hotel zone.

Designed by acclaimed architecture firm Sordo Madaleno, the resort features 163 guest rooms and 50 suites, many offering sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea. Signature accommodations include the Caroline Astor Suite and the Presidential Suite, both designed to provide a residential-style luxury experience.
Dining is a major focus of the new resort, with nine restaurants and bars spanning a variety of cuisines. Highlights include Costa Coral, serving elevated Mexican cuisine, Fish Market with Caribbean-inspired seafood, and Shami, a rooftop restaurant blending Japanese techniques with local Mexican ingredients.

Guests can also enjoy the brand’s signature traditions, including St. Regis Butler Service, Afternoon Tea, and Champagne Sabrage ceremonies, alongside locally inspired experiences such as cultural workshops and coral reef restoration activities.
The property’s wellness offerings include a full-service St. Regis Spa featuring a thermal circuit, hydrotherapy facilities, 16 treatment suites, and therapies inspired by traditional Mexican healing practices. For meetings, weddings, and special events, the resort offers nearly 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, including the grand Astor Ballroom.
George Fleck, Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, said:
From its founding by John Jacob Astor IV over a century ago, the vision of St. Regis has been shaped by a spirit of exploration, journeying to the world’s most enchanting destinations and creating places that embody both grandeur and a lasting allure. Today, across our expanding resort portfolio, we honor that legacy by bringing the brand’s signature rituals, refined sense of celebration, and modern glamour to extraordinary locales around the globe. With The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort, Cancún, we extend this heritage to one of the Mexican Caribbean’s most captivating settings and curating exceptional experiences in destinations that inspire and endure.”
Anthony’s Take: I love the St. Regis brand and this resort looks great. Cancún is not one of my favorite spots, but that is largely because of the resort factories that dominate it. The opening further strengthens Costa Mujeres’ position as one of Mexico’s fastest-growing luxury destinations and adds another flagship property to Marriott’s luxury portfolio in the Mexican Caribbean.
