American Airlines is expanding its premium lounge offerings at New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) with the future opening of Provisions by Admirals Club℠. The grab-and-go lounge concept that was first introduced at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) (review here) is designed for travelers who want a faster airport experience.
Opening in December, the 3,700-square-foot space will be located in Terminal 8, Concourse B, between Gates 12 and 14. Unlike a traditional lounge, Provisions by Admirals Club℠ is designed to help customers quickly grab premium food and drinks before heading to their gate. This is ideal for passengers with short connections or limited time.
The new lounge will feature American’s first dedicated barista bar. It will serve customized Lavazza coffee beverages alongside self-service drinks that travelers can take with them. Guests will also find a selection of fresh grab-and-go meals, including breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, snacks, and vegetarian options available throughout the day.
In addition to food and beverages, the new location will include an on-site customer service representative to assist travelers with any last-minute travel needs.
American’s Chief Customer Officer, Heather Garboden, said:
JFK is a busy hub where our customers make a lot of connections, and this space allows us to better match the pace of our customers’ journeys. The Provisions by Admirals ClubSM space creates a more flexible lounge experience — one that combines thoughtful design, elevated beverages and quick access to fresh options, all while helping serve more customers, more efficiently. By listening to our customers and understanding how they move through the airport, we’re adding even more convenience, bringing premium access closer to where many of them begin their travels.”
Anthony’s Take: The new lounge complements American’s existing Admirals Club® and premium lounges in Terminal 8 and offers another convenient option for eligible travelers looking to maximize their time before departure.
