This was by far one of the worst meals that I have been served on United Airlines and that says a lot if you’ve spent any time dining in the sky with the carrier. I switched onto this flight between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) (which also diverted) the day before and had not pre-ordered a meal.

Sticky Bourbon Glazed Chicken

The Sticky Bourbon Glazed Chicken is described as “sticky bourbon glazed chicken with jalapeno creamed corn, baked beans, and smoky bourbon glaze.” It was actually a dish of slop doused in barbecue sauce. Everything was mushy and the barbecue sauce overpowered the entire thing. I wouldn’t wish this meal on anyone.

The meal started with warm mixed nuts and a choice of beverage (I had a cranberry juice and club soda).

The tray came with an unheated bread roll, a green salad, and Key Lime Cheesecake. I could not get over how mushy the beans, corn, and even chicken were. Nothing tasted good. The cheesecake was also overly sweet, grainy, and did not taste like lime.

Anthony’s Take: This was awful all around. The service was also poor and no drink refills were offered during the flight. United failed once again with this one.
