Delta Air Lines is one step closer to bringing its premium Delta One® Lounge concept to its largest hub with new details emerging about the highly anticipated facility planned for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) thanks to Ben at One Mile at a Time.
According to documents filed with the Atlanta City Council’s transportation committee, the new lounge will be located in Concourse E. It will occupy newly developed space between gates E14 and E27 rather than replacing an existing Delta Sky Club® (the airline already has nine in Atlanta). The only catch is that this space is not slated to open until at least 2029.
It’s expected to span approximately 39,000 square feet, making it one of the largest Delta One® Lounges in the airline’s network and only slightly smaller than the flagship location at New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Construction is expected to take roughly 30 months once work begins. As part of the project, the City of Atlanta is expected to reimburse Delta up to $63 million for construction costs associated with building out the space from its current shell condition.

The Atlanta lounge will become the fifth Delta One® Lounge location, joining existing facilities at New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) (review here), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).
Designed primarily for Delta One business class passengers traveling on long-haul international flights, the lounges offer an elevated pre-flight experience with premium dining, upscale lounges, wellness amenities, and personalized service that goes well beyond the traditional airport lounge model.
While Delta has also indicated that future Delta One® Lounges are being considered for hubs such as Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW), Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), and Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) (no timelines for those projects have been announced).
Anthony’s Take: For now, Atlanta-based travelers will need some patience, but the new details confirm that Delta’s biggest hub is finally getting one of the airline’s most exclusive ground experiences.
