Delta Air Lines has completed the rollout of Delta Concierge. Its generative AI-powered travel assistant is now available to every SkyMiles member through the Delta mobile app.
The expansion comes less than a year after the feature entered beta testing and reflects growing interest in AI-powered travel tools. According to recent research, 84% of travelers who have used generative AI for travel planning or trip management say it enhanced their overall travel experience.
Designed to provide personalized assistance before and during a trip, Delta Concierge uses information tied to a member’s SkyMiles account to offer relevant support without requiring customers to navigate through multiple screens within the app.

Among its newest capabilities is the ability to cancel eligible flights directly through the chat interface. The AI assistant can also submit refund requests or process eligible eCredits in real time to allow customers to complete common transactions without contacting customer service.

Delta Concierge can also:
- Provide real-time flight status updates
- Help travelers rebook flights during disruptions
- Explain itinerary changes and present alternative travel options
- Track checked baggage throughout a journey
- Display SkyMiles balances, Medallion Qualification Dollar (MQD) progress, and available eCredits
The assistant automatically recognizes a customer’s upcoming itinerary to allow travelers to ask questions about their next trip without manually searching for their reservation. Delta says the AI tool is designed to complement and not replace the support provided by its employees, with the airline continuing to position Delta Concierge as a digital self-service option that simplifies routine travel tasks while leaving more complex issues to customer service representatives.
Although the feature is now available to all SkyMiles members, Delta will continue to label the assistant as a beta product while introducing additional capabilities based on customer feedback and usage patterns.
Anthony’s Take: The expansion marks another step in Delta’s broader digital strategy as airlines increasingly use artificial intelligence to streamline customer service and improve the travel experience. Delta is quickly catching up with United (what I consider the best airline app in the United States).
