Volaris is continuing its expansion between Mexico and the United States with the launch of three new international routes.
The ultra-low-cost carrier will introduce new nonstop service between:
- Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)
- Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
- Puebla’s Hermanos Serdán International Airport (PBC) and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD)
The additions further reinforce Guadalajara’s role as one of Volaris’ largest operating bases while expanding travel options for both leisure and business passengers traveling between Mexico and the United States. The new Atlanta and Washington, DC-area routes will provide travelers with nonstop access to two of the country’s largest metropolitan areas while the Puebla to/from Chicago service will offer a direct connection between central Mexico and one of the largest Mexican-American communities in the United States.
The route expansion also supports growing demand for visiting friends and relatives (VFR) travel, a core segment of Volaris’ network, while providing additional options for tourism and business travel on both sides of the border.
Anthony’s Take: Volaris has not yet announced the launch dates or flight frequencies for the three new routes. It’s good to see some new routes after several were pulled over the past year.
