Back in June, I wrote about Delta Air Lines’ plans to add a new nonstop route between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG). Now, it looks like that official announcement is coming next week.
Aviation watchdog @JonNYC shared on X that the announcement should happen on August 13th. If this is the announcement, Delta will fly nonstop to France in summer 2027. This would make sense since Delta has heavily invested in the airport, has plans for a new Delta Sky Club® and even a Delta One® Lounge (which would be the first outside of a hub). The airline now trails only Southwest in scale at the airport and with crew bases as well as 15 new gates coming, it’s not slowing down.

While Southwest Airlines remains the dominant carrier at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), Delta has steadily built out its network with a mix of major business markets and smaller destinations. It has surpassed American Airlines and wants to continue to grow there.
Anthony’s Take: Another international route makes sense from Austin and it seems like this one will likely happen. Air France will be able to provide connections and Delta is clearly making investments in this Texas focus city.
