Earlier this month, I wrote about Delta Air Lines’ plans to add a new nonstop route between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC). Now, it’s rumored that a new international destination will be added to the map: Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG).

Delta plans to fly nonstop to France in summer 2027 according to aviation watchdog, @JonNYC. This would make sense since Delta has heavily invested in the airport, has plans for a new Delta Sky Club® and even a Delta One® Lounge (which would be the first outside of a hub). The airline now trails only Southwest in scale at the airport and with crew bases as well as 15 new gates coming, it’s not slowing down.

Aside from this Paris rumor, Delta will offer the following routes to/from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS):

  • Asheville Regional Airport (AVL)
  • Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)
  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
  • Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN)
  • Cancún International Airport (CUN)
  • Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG)
  • Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW)
  • John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH)
  • Denver International Airport (DEN)
  • Glacier Park International Airport (FCA)
  • Indianapolis International Airport (IND)
  • Jacksonville International Airport (JAX)
  • Kansas City International Airport (MCI)
  • Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
  • McAllen International Airport (MFE)
  • Memphis International Airport (MEM) (ends October 5th)
  • Miami International Airport (MIA)
  • Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP)
  • Nashville International Airport (BNA)
  • Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) (ends October 5th)
  • New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
  • Orlando International Airport (MCO)
  • Palm Springs International Airport (PSP)
  • Panama City’s Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP)
  • Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU)
  • Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC)
  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
  • Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC)
  • Los Cabos International Airport (SJD)
  • Seattle International Airport (SEA)
  • Tampa International Airport (TPA)

While Southwest Airlines remains the dominant carrier at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), Delta has steadily built out its network with a mix of major business markets and smaller destinations.

Anthony’s Take: Another international route makes sense from Austin and it seems like this one will likely happen next summer. Air France will be able to provide seamless connections and Delta is clearly making investments in this Texas focus city.
