Sheraton Hotels & Resorts has expanded its footprint in the Pacific with the opening of Sheraton Port Moresby Stanley Hotel & Suites. This marks the brand’s first property in Papua New Guinea and Marriott’s second hotel in the country.
Located in the heart of Port Moresby, the 394-room hotel is just five minutes from Jacksons International Airport (POM) and offers direct access to Vision City Mega Mall. This places guests close to the city’s business, government, shopping, and entertainment districts.
The property introduces Sheraton’s latest global brand design and is centered around an open and flexible lobby intended to serve as a gathering place for both travelers and local residents. The redesigned public spaces feature collaborative work areas, private meeting booths, and the brand’s signature Community Table, creating an environment that supports business, social interaction, and relaxation.
Accommodations include 284 guestrooms, 15 suites, and 95 fully equipped apartments, providing options for short visits, business trips, and extended stays. The hotel is also positioned as one of Papua New Guinea’s premier meetings and events destinations, offering more than 2,500 square meters of function space, including the country’s largest ballroom for conferences, corporate events, and celebrations.
Dining options range from upscale cuisine at Silverleaf to international buffets at Greenhaus, while &More by Sheraton serves as an all-day café and bar in the lobby. Additional venues include Monsoon Bar & Lounge and the Pool Bar & Café. Guests will also have access to an infinity pool, one of Port Moresby’s largest hotel fitness centers, and a full-service spa.

International Sheratons tend to be nice. Maybe Marriott will improve them domestically as well.
