Lufthansa has revealed the next generation of employee uniforms. They blend tradition with modern design as the airline approaches its 100th anniversary. The updated uniforms were unveiled during a fashion show at the Lufthansa Group’s Hangar One visitor and conference center. They showcasing new looks for cockpit crews, cabin staff, and ground employees. The collection represents the first major redesign in more than 20 years.

The project was developed in close collaboration with employees across all uniformed roles. Staff members were involved throughout the process, testing garments for comfort, functionality, and sustainability, and providing feedback that helped refine the final designs. The uniforms were created in partnership with BOSS, bringing a fashion-forward approach rooted in precision tailoring and premium materials. The collaboration reflects a shared focus on quality, craftsmanship, and timeless style.

The new collection includes around 40 redesigned and newly introduced pieces, maintaining Lufthansa’s signature color palette of deep blue accented with its iconic yellow. One standout feature is a newly introduced cape for cabin and ground staff, designed as a nod to the airline’s heritage while signaling a forward-looking identity.
Sustainability and flexibility were key considerations in the redesign. Employees will be able to mix and match new and existing uniform items, reducing waste while allowing for personal preference and adaptability across roles.

Jens Ritter, CEO of Lufthansa Airlines, said:
Our new uniform is far more than just a piece of clothing; it is an expression of our identity and a promise to our guests worldwide. It is our business card and stands for quality, reliability, and the unmistakable style that our passengers experience on every journey with Lufthansa.”
James Foster, SVP Global Marketing at HUGO BOSS, said:
Working closely with Lufthansa, we have combined tailoring expertise with aviation know-how. The new looks represent quality, durability, and our shared commitment to excellence. We look forward to accompanying Lufthansa in the next chapter of its journey – both in the air and on the ground.”
Anthony’s Take: The rollout of the new uniforms will begin in phases starting in the fourth quarter of 2026. The initiative is part of Lufthansa’s broader effort to modernize its brand and reinforce its position as a leading premium airline. It combines innovation with a strong sense of identity as it enters its second century.
