United Airlines is expanding its network at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) with the launch of four domestic routes beginning September 24th. These include the return of nonstop service to three cities and an all-new destination.
New routes to/from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) include:
- Bentonville’s Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) (daily)
- Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (CHO) (daily)
- Knoxville’s McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) (2x daily)
- Omaha’s Eppley Airfield (OMA) (daily)
The new service to Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (CHO) marks the first time United has connected Charlottesville nonstop with Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). The airline already serves Charlottesville to/from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and also operates flights to/from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).
The other three routes represent returns to markets United previously served. Nonstop flights between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Bentonville’s Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) last operated in 2022 while service to/from Knoxville’s McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) and Omaha’s Eppley Airfield (OMA) ended in 2020 during the pandemic.
Anthony’s Take: I might be critical of the catering and the operations, but you will never hear me complain about the route map. The additions further reinforce Newark’s role as United’s largest Northeast hub and provide travelers with more nonstop options to key business and leisure destinations across the eastern and central United States.
