After my conference in Las Vegas, I was headed home last night. Since I was flying United, I went over to the United Club℠ between Gates D33 and D35 in the D Terminal. The space is a former Continental President’s Club and I fondly remember coming here back in the pre-merger days. The lounge has been renovated since then and the space is fine for passing time. It was packed yesterday, but there were still enough seats to accommodate the crowd.
I walked by the Centurion Lounge and the line to enter was long. I’m not sure some of these folks would gain entrance before their flights. The lounge is great, but not worth spending all of your time in line (my full review here).
Access
Access is granted for those with United Club℠ memberships, day passes from Chase co-branded credit cards or purchased for $59, Global Services® members, United passengers with Gold or higher status traveling internationally, international business or first-class passengers traveling on a Star Alliance flight, and Star Alliance Gold members regardless of class flown. You can find more information about these lounges and their access rules here. The lounge is an elevator ride up and then you need to cross the hall. When you enter the lounge, you need to check in at the desk that is located directly inside the entrance.
Anthony’s Take: I have a United Club℠ membership and make it a point to stop by when I’m flying United. This lounge makes me a bit sentimental as noted above and offers a food selection better than what you’ll find in most. There was a good mix of hot and cold items. While the lounge’s decor is rather bland, there is plenty of space and it’s fine to relax or work before your flight.
Bar
In the back of the lounge, you’ll find a bar. There is a small variety of paid and complimentary beer, wine, and spirits here. The free offerings are pretty basic, but the paid selections are not too badly priced. The bartender working moved pretty slowly, so it takes a while to get a drink when it’s busy.
You’ll find water between the buffet and the bar.
There is also an espresso machine, drip coffee, tea, and condiments for coffee.
Food
The food in the United Clubs℠ is lacking compared to Delta’s Sky Clubs® or the American Express Centurion Lounges. This lounge is one of the better ones in the United network in terms of offerings. I visited during dinner and the buffet had some sandwiches, taco ingredients, chips & salsa, lo mein, soup, cheese, salad ingredients, some desserts, and fruit (pictured above).

Other toppings were available for the tacos along the buffet including cheese, tomatoes, salsa, sour cream, and more.
There was a decent selection of salad ingredients.

A small selection of cheese.
The sandwiches were rather picked over.

This lounge had a good selection of desserts including cookies, Rice Krispies Treats, and Carrot Cake.
Seating
There are lots of seating configurations throughout including many tables near the bar. It was packed when I arrived, but I was able to find a seat.
The lounge is one large room with rows of seats throughout.
There are plenty of outlets and they all appeared operational (which is an issue in other lounges).
Amenities
This United Club℠ offers free Wi-Fi, restrooms, magazines, and the food and beverages mentioned above.
Overall Impression:
The United Club℠ has a basic design, but the food offerings are better than most in United’s network. When the lines are as obscene as they were at the Centurion Lounge this visit, I’ll be back.
