Low-cost carrier, Allegiant Air, is refreshing its in-flight, buy-on-board menu with new beverages and snacks. Every three months, Allegiant’s team switches up the menu with new additions based on customer feedback.

Allegiant Menu

New items include Don Julio Reposado Tequila, Ryder Estate Wines, Grandma’s Chocolate Chip Cookies, Lay’s Barbecue Chips, Nut Harvest Sea Salted Cashews, and Sprite Zero. This summer, Allegiant tested selling Don Julio Reposado Tequila onboard flights bound for Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS). Customer feedback was positive and it’s now available across Allegiant’s full network. Additionally, Ryder Estate Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon wines have also been added to the lineup.

Keny Wilper, Allegiant’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, said:

We are thrilled to offer our customers the brands they know and love while traveling on Allegiant. A hallmark of Allegiant’s business model is our flexibility, allowing us to respond quickly to consumer trends so we can provide the experiences passengers desire when they fly with us. Often, we are at the forefront of inflight snack and beverage offerings across the industry.”

Anthony’s Take: Allegiant Air has one of the most extensive snack and drink menus of any of the low-cost carriers. While there is no fresh food or hot items, it’s good that they keep refreshing the menu each quarter.

I’m happy to see Sprite Zero. I don’t recall an airline serving a diet Sprite option since AirTran (who had probably the most comprehensive on board offering of Coca-Cola products of any airline).

Allegiant has by far the best buy on board selection of any US airline. I wonder if one day they may experiment with any hot food because most of their planes do have at least one oven (due to extensive charter business). They offer some rather unique mixed drink combinations that nobody else offers in the US, even in premium cabins. They have their market figured out – people going on vacation are likely to spend a little more for something special. Plus it is nice as Allegiant’s very reasonable co-branded credit card comes with a free drink (alcoholic or non) on board. And you sure see a lot of Allegiant credit cards on their flights.
