Alaska Airlines is expanding its Hawaii network this winter with the launch of two new nonstop routes to Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL).
Beginning December 17th, the airline will introduce 1x daily service from Boise Airport (BOI) to give travelers in Idaho a convenient new option for escaping to the islands without a connection. Two days later on December 19th, Alaska will launch 1x weekly service between Spokane International Airport (GEG) and Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL).
The new routes continue Alaska Airlines’ strategy of strengthening service between the US West and Hawaii, where the carrier remains one of the largest operators. For travelers in Boise and Spokane, the additions eliminate the need to connect through larger West Coast hubs and make winter getaways to Hawaii more convenient than ever. With these additions, Alaska will fly nonstop to/from Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) and these cities:
- Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC)
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
- Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)
- Portland International Airport (PDX)
- Sacramento International Airport (SMF)
- San Diego International Airport (SAN)
- San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
- Norman Y. Mineta San José International Airport (SJC)
- Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)
Anthony’s Take: Alaska is leaning into its recent acquisition and adding routes from cities that it already has a strong presence in throughout the Western United States. These should do well this winter.
