After months of travel disruptions and long security lines, there is a positive update for US travelers: TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID is now available at 65 airports nationwide.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) recently completed a rapid expansion of the program to significantly increase access to the streamlined, hands-free security process. Just months ago, the service was limited to a small number of airline hubs, but it has now been rolled out to nearly all major airports and many mid-sized ones.
TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID allows eligible travelers to move through dedicated lanes without presenting a physical ID or boarding pass. Instead, identity is verified using facial recognition technology, creating a faster and more seamless checkpoint experience. The service is available at no additional cost to travelers enrolled in TSA PreCheck® or those accessing PreCheck lanes through Global Entry membership. It offers a similar experience to the paid service provided by CLEAR, but without the extra fee (or the hassles I often face with CLEAR).
Several major airlines participate in the program, including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and Hawaiian Airlines. Just note that you need to opt into the service with each individual airline. This is done by checking a box or adding the service on the profile of your airline loyalty account.
Despite the expanded availability, access is not guaranteed at all times. Travelers may encounter situations where the technology is temporarily unavailable or not active at a specific checkpoint. As a result, passengers should still carry a valid Real ID or other accepted identification when traveling.

Anthony’s Take: While it remains unclear whether the program will expand further to smaller airports, the current rollout marks a significant step toward modernizing airport security and reducing wait times for travelers across the country. TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID is my favorite and it has already saved me a lot of time.

Looks as if PHX is on the map, but it isn’t on the list
Good catch. Thanks!
