Porter Airlines is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a playful new collectible that gives aviation fans the chance to take home a miniature piece of the airline and possibly win free travel.
The airline just unveiled The Little Things Blind Boxes. This limited-edition collection is inspired by some of the features that have helped define the Porter experience since its launch in 2006. Each mystery box contains one of five collectible miniatures including Mr. Porter (the airline’s raccoon mascot), a De Havilland Dash 8-400, an Embraer E195-E2, a miniature beverage served in Porter’s signature glassware, or a small piece of luggage. Every collectible also comes with a keychain to allow fans to use the items as travel accessories.
Porter has produced 1,000 of each collectible with blind boxes retailing for $22 a piece. The boxes are available for preorder exclusively through the airline’s anniversary website with shipping expected to begin in late November.
Adding to the excitement, a small number of boxes contain a Golden Porter Pass. The rare prize (hidden in approximately one out of every 500 boxes_ can be redeemed for 20 complimentary one-way flights, equivalent to 10 round trips to any destination served by Porter Airlines. The collectible series celebrates the details that have become synonymous with the airline’s brand, from complimentary beverages served in glassware to the aircraft that have powered its expansion across Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, and Latin America. The launch marks the beginning of Porter’s year-long 20th anniversary celebrations and reflects the airline’s focus on the small touches that have helped distinguish its Economy Class experience from many competitors.

Anthony’s Take: The limited-edition blind boxes are available while supplies last with no guarantee of receiving a specific collectible or the coveted Golden Porter Pass, but I think it’s worth a shot for $22.
