Resorts World New York City is set to make history with the launch of New York City’s first-ever live table games (scheduled for April 28th). Located next to Aqueduct Racetrack and in the same building as the Hyatt Regency JFK Airport at Resorts World New York (review here), the casino has transformed its third floor into a full-scale gaming destination featuring more than 240 live table games. Guests will be able to play blackjack, craps, baccarat, and roulette, alongside thousands of slot machines offering multimillion dollar jackpots.

The opening marks a major milestone for the city as it introduces live table gaming to a commercial casino in New York City for the first time in its history. The launch will be celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Genting Chairman KT Lim and hip-hop artist Nas, along with local officials, community leaders, and entertainers. A ceremonial dice roll will officially kick off gaming operations.
The expansion has also driven significant job creation. Resorts World NYC has hired 1,250 new employees, including 950 table game dealers, bringing its total workforce to 2,200. That number is expected to grow to more than 2,700 by the summer. Workforce development has played a central role in the project. Since 2022, the property’s Introduction to Gaming program has trained over 350 local residents while its Dealer School has already graduated and hired more than 400 individuals (with another 500 expected by May).
Robert DeSalvio, President of Genting Americas East, said:
New York City has never seen anything like what we’re planning for April 28. Once the Gaming Commission’s final testing is complete, live table games will be open and operating right here in Queens for the first time in the history of New York City. We are ready to welcome New Yorkers to this exciting new experience. Resorts World now employees over 2,200 Team Members and have already doubled our workforce and expect thousands more Team Members as the integrated resort is developed over the next three years. This is a transformational moment for Resorts World New York City, and we cannot wait to share it with our fellow New Yorkers.”
Anthony’s Take: The addition of live table games positions Resorts World New York City as a major player in the regional gaming market. Slots are fun, but serious gamblers always want table games and this move should generate significant revenue and taxes.
