JetBlue is once again expanding its footprint at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and launching a wave of new nonstop routes that further solidify its position as the airport’s largest airline.
The carrier is launching service to several new destinations this week and will add six more routes in the coming months. This brings its network to more than 55 nonstop destinations and over 125 daily departures from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). By this winter, JetBlue expects to operate approximately 150 daily flights from the airport. New routes include:
- Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) (3x daily; starts July 9th)
- Barranquilla’s Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport (BAQ),, Colombia (daily; starts October 1st)
- Cali’s Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport (CLO)(daily; starts October 15th)
- Caracas’ Simón Bolívar International Airport (CCS) (daily; start date to be announced)
- Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) (3x daily; starts July 9th)
- Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) (2x daily; starts July 9th)
- Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) (daily; started July 8th)
- John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) (daily; starts November 2nd)
- Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) (2x daily; starts July 9th)
- Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) (3x daily; starts July 9th)
- Indianapolis International Airport (IND) (daily; starts November 2nd)
- Mercedita International Airport (PSE), Ponce, Puerto Rico (daily; starts July 9th)
- Nashville International Airport (BNA) (3x daily; starts July 9th)
- San Diego International Airport (SAN) (daily; starts November 19th)

A highlight of the expansion is the introduction of JetBlue Mint® service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and San Diego International Airport (SAN) beginning November 19th, offering the only lie-flat business-class product on the route. Additional Mint® service to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is also scheduled to launch this winter.
JetBlue says its Fort Lauderdale operation has grown by more than 75% compared to last year with the airline adding 24 nonstop destinations since December and six more still to come. The expansion strengthens Fort Lauderdale’s role as one of JetBlue’s key gateways, offering more connections across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean while providing South Florida travelers with more nonstop options than ever before.
Anthony’s Take: I’m happy to see JetBlue focusing on what it does best. It’s smart to continue to strengthen its Fort Lauderdale hub and these additions should work well.
