ITA Airways is rolling out more benefits for members of the Miles & More program to build on its recent integration into the Lufthansa Group ecosystem and its entry into Star Alliance. The new enhancements, effective this month, are designed to offer greater flexibility, improved redemption options, and more robust elite benefits across all membership tiers.
Members now have more ways to use their miles on ITA-operated flights. For the first time, Premium Economy award flights are available. This significantly expands redemption opportunities beyond Economy and Business Class.
Additional updates include:
- More upgrade options using miles or eVouchers
- Access to promotional award deals through monthly Mileage Bargains
- New award types such as Child Awards, World Awards, and three-region itineraries
These changes make it easier for both individual travelers and families to maximize their miles.
Upgrades are becoming more streamlined, with members now able to apply miles or eVouchers directly through the Miles & More platform. This simplifies the process and gives travelers more control over their booking experience. From May onward, ITA flights are also included in Mileage Bargains, which offer discounted award pricing on select routes.
Elite members (particularly Senators and HON Circle members) are seeing meaningful improvements to their travel experience. This includes:
- Booking guarantees on fully booked flights
- Companion award tickets at reduced mileage rates
- Complimentary transport of one piece of golf equipment
- Expanded upgrade and award availability
HON Circle members will also benefit from increased access to award seats and the ability to extend certain privileges to a companion traveling on the same reservation.
These updates build on existing benefits already available to Miles & More elites flying ITA, including:
- Priority check-in and boarding
- Lounge access
- Additional baggage allowance
- Fast-track security access
- Complimentary seat selection, depending on fare
Since officially joining Miles & More on April 1st, ITA Airways passengers have been able to earn and redeem miles, as well as accumulate qualifying points toward status. The latest updates mark the completion of a broader harmonization effort that began in 2025 to align ITA’s offerings with those of the Lufthansa Group.
