As mentioned in my review, I flew Alaska Airlines this week for the first time in 20 years when going between Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). While flying in First Class, I had the opportunity to pre-order my meal. If their is a burger offered, I’m going to get it and this flight had a Tillamook Cheeseburger available. I’ve tasted what American, Delta, and United have to offer in the past and was excited to try out Alaska’s take.

This was pre-ordered and there was no description other than the name “Tillamook Cheeseburger.” Tillamook is a city in Oregon and a brand of cheese.

The meal began with a choice of beverages and mixed nuts. I had a ginger ale mixed.

The tray included some veggies and hummus, potato chips, a chocolate mousse cake, and the burger along with condiments, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. I did not have more than a bite of the hummus (I think it was red pepper flavored). The chips were fine and not overly processed. The burger itself was really tasty. It was meaty and sizable. Much bigger than what any of the other airlines are serving. While I like my burgers rare, I’m not getting that on a plane. I added the veggies, ketchup, and mayo to get the right taste. I think Delta still is king with its Shake Shack burger collab, but this is a close, close second.

The chocolate mousse cake tasted artificial and I did not eat more than a bite.

Later in the flight, the flight attendant came by with a snack basket and I snagged these for another time.
Anthony’s Take: This was a delicious meal and if it’s any indication of what Alaska usually caters than I need to dine on its flights more often.
