U.S. News & World Report just released its latest list of the top places to visit this year. They made the list using a mix of expert opinions and user votes. The list includes bucket-list beach vacations, national parks, mountains, and many popular global cities. It’s pretty comprehensive and includes 30 picks that take into consideration seasonality, affordability, food, culture, attractions, and natural beauty to determine the best. Here is the list:

Anthony’s Take: This list is interesting and there are a few places I would add including Hong Kong, Iceland, Sicily, and Singapore. Of the 30 listed above, I have been fortunate enough to visit 20. Most of the remaining locations are on my list for the future.

Paris is a tough one. It probably should be number one, but number one also makes it feel overrated.

Maui is my least favorite island in Hawaii, but different strokes for different folks.

Phuket and Japan (Kyoto, specifically) would be top choices probably, if going for uniqueness. Peru feels like it should have been in the Top 30 somewhere.
