Back in September 2023, I wrote about Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) getting its first-ever airport passenger lounge. The Club MDW is 3,300 square feet and will begin accommodating passengers tomorrow, September 26th at 4:00 AM.
Priority Pass members receive free access to this lounge and guest passes for any passenger are available for sale for $50 each. It will provide complimentary food, beverages, Wi-Fi, and seating for passengers to relax and work before their flights. The Club MDW will be located at MDW’s Central Market between Concourses A and B.
The design of the lounge will draw inspiration from “Chicago’s rich architectural history…with a wide range of materials, including metallic accents and plush upholstery that provide a warm and comforting guest experience.” Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) has been around for 95 years and continues to grow with passenger numbers exceeding those prepandemic. Through July 2023, passenger levels were 106% of 2019 levels.
The Club MDW has partnered with local food and beverage companies like Revolution Brewing, Two Brothers Brewing Company, and Chicago-based Koval Distillery. The buffet will feature dishes meant to reflect Chicago’s culinary scene (I have to admit that Chicago and especially the West Loop, where I live, has some great restaurants). The lounge will be open daily from 4:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held today and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson was on hand for the festivities. I have a confession. I live in Chicago and have never been to Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW). It’s never been convenient and I don’t fly the bulk of the carriers that operate there (with the exception of Delta Air Lines). Other carriers flying out of the airport include: Allegiant Air, Avelo Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Porter Airlines, and Volaris. Midway also serves as a major hub for Southwest.
Anthony’s Take: I’m not sure I’ll ever use this lounge, but it’s great that the airport is getting an option. Travelers flock to lounges as evidenced by the Delta Sky Clubs® and Centurion Lounges. Those who frequent Midway will soon have a place to relax, grab a bite to eat, and get some work done.

I’m an ORD guy….but flew out of MDW to ATL couple weeks ago. Food choices are better THAN ORD but more expensive. This lounge would be an awesome alternative just for the free booze …..but I bet we’re gonna see ATL Delta club type lines quickly
