Back in December, I wrote about JetBlue finally adding a First Class cabin fleetwide but we did not know when it would begin flying on any of the carrier’s aircraft. One of the reasons I don’t fly the airline is due to its lack of a premium cabin, but that’s about to change since we’ll start to see First Class known as “Blue First” taking to the skies in October.

Initial estimates touted about 20 aircraft per month seeing the installation of new seats. We’ll see how this holds as JetBlue gets updating its fleet.

Estimates shared back in December said that JetBlue would reconfigure its fleet to add the First Class cabin as follows:

  • Airbus A220: 143 seats total with eight First Class and 135 Economy Class seats (currently, the Airbus A220s have 140 seats total)
  • Airbus A320: 162 seats total with 12 First Class and 150 Economy Class seats (currently, the Airbus A320s have 162 seats total)
  • Airbus A321ceo: 198 seats total with 12 First Class and 186 Economy Class seats (currently the Airbus A321ceos have 200 seats total)
  • Airbus A321neos: 200 seats total with 12 First Class and 188 Economy Class seats (currently the Airbus A321neos have 200 seats total)

JetBlue First Class Plans

A March 2026 8K-filing shows that JetBlue wants to have three to four rows of First Class on all aircraft types. This would increase the numbers estimated above. No final updates have been provided as to the number of seats or soft product. At this point, we only know that First Class is coming in October. Other details should be coming in the next few months. I hope that JetBlue keeps the catering standards high and aligns this cabin with its often raved about Mint® meals.

Anthony’s Take: JetBlue is an airline that I want to fly more, but I want to sit in First Class. With the upcoming installation, I’ll be sure to try out Blue First and report back.

Guess we should we expect something similar to United or Delta’s domestic first product?
