Chase Sapphire has been opening new lounges over the past few years. First came the location in Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) (full review here) in May 2023. February 2024 saw the opening of both New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) (full review here). In March 2024, the Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) opened its doors (more here). Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and San Diego International Airport (SAN) also opened last year. Now, a new lounge is ready to open at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) as of tomorrow, February 20th.

The 20,000 square-foot lounge is located post-security in the connector between Terminals D and E. It offers cuisine and decor with a nod to its Philly roots and will help to elevate the lounge scene at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The lounge’s hours will run daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

The space has a beer garden to honor the city’s brewing history and offer a wide selection of local craft beers on tap. Locally roasted coffee from Philadelphia’s Elixr Coffee along with soft drinks, signature cocktails, and curated wines from Parcelle round out the beverage offerings. A menu of Philadelphia-inspired items like cheesesteak sliders and potato pancakes has been developed by Middle Child Clubhouse. The restaurant is known for its modern culinary takes on old-school Philadelphia sandwiches and dishes.

A mural by local artist James Burns of Mural Arts Philadelphia (the nation’s largest public art program) completes the lounge’s sense of place in Philadelphia. Its vibrant game room is equipped with retro arcade machines and a large multi-screen wall with chairs for a complete gaming experience or for watching your favorite sports team on one of the six TVs.

The lounge also offers wellness amenities such as bookable private rest pods, showers, rejuvenating facial treatments from Face Haus, and on-demand digital self-guided meditations from Master Well-Being Educator & Healer, Devi Brown. There is also a family room and play area, private and communal working spaces, as well as a nursing room.

Anthony’s Take: Chase has some beautiful lounges and I’m happy to see them now opening at a more rapid clip. I’ll be in Philadelphia in a few weeks and plan to check out this new lounge.
