American Express was the first credit card issuer to open lounges with the Centurion® Lounge at Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) debuting in 2013 (full review here). More recently, Chase and Capital One have opened their own lounges. Chase began with The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) (full review here) and Capital One launched at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) (full review here). Capital One then opened lounges in Denver International Airport (DEN) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) with plans to operate several more in the next few years.

Capital One Lounge

Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) will soon see the opening of a Capital One Lounge in Concourse D. No dates have been provided, but I’d guess some time during 2024. The lounge will span 7,857 square feet, but no other details have been shared. I was passing through the airport today and noticed signs and an area that is walled off and under construction. Once open, travelers will have access to four lounges in this concourse. These include:

  • The Centurion® Lounge by American Express (review here)
  • The Club at LAS (review here)
  • United Club℠ (review here)

Access to the Capital One Lounges is granted to Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture X Business primary cardholders. They can enjoy unlimited complimentary access, plus complimentary entry for two guests per visit (it costs $45 per visit for additional guests). Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Spark Miles for Business cardholders receive two complimentary visits towards their account per calendar year (additional visits can be purchased for $45) to use by December 31, 2024. Effective January 1, 2025, they will no longer offer access. All other cardholders and non-customers can enter for $65. Children under age two can enter for free with a supervising parent or guardian. Access to all amenities is included with lounge entry.

LAS Centurion Line

Anthony’s Take: I can’t wait to check out the new Capital One Lounge in Las Vegas. The one in Dallas is great and I’ll hopefully make my way to the Denver and Washington DC locations soon. The line at the Centurion® Lounge is often excessive (like today) and inside it’s always packed. This will be a nice alternative.

Anthony’s Credit Card Pick: I love the lounges that the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card allows me to access. I’ve been using this card more and more this year. While it does have an annual fee of $395, it provides many travel benefits like a $300 annual credit for bookings through Capital One Travel, up to a $120 credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck®, and 10x miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel as well as 5x miles on flights booked through Capital One Travel.
