Porter Airlines is expanding its winter sun offerings for the 2026–2027 season, unveiling more than 40 warm-weather routes, and introducing its first-ever international flights from Alberta.
Among the highlights of the upcoming schedule are four new destinations:
- Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA)
- Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport (MBJ)
- Los Cabos International Airport (SJD)
- San José’s Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO)
These additions complement Porter’s existing sun network, which already includes:
- Cancún International Airport (CUN)
- Grand Cayman’s Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM)
- Liberia’s Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR)
- Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS)
- Puerto Vallarta’s Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR)
For the first time, Porter is launching international routes from Alberta to expand its footprint beyond Eastern Canada:
From Edmonton International Airport (YEG), it will add flights to Puerto Vallarta’s Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR), Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). From Calgary International Airport (YYC), Porter will connect Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX).
Phoenix is emerging as an important destination within Porter’s network. Service between Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is resuming. A second daily flight from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is also being introduced. Passengers traveling through Phoenix will also benefit from onward connections via Porter’s partnership with American Airlines, which provides access to a broad domestic network across the United States.
Several Eastern Canadian airports are also seeing notable additions. Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) will add
Cancún International Airport (CUN) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (YHM) will begin flying to Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport (MBJ). Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW) will see flights to Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA), Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport (MBJ), and Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). From Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), passengers can expect flights to Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA), San José’s Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport (MBJ), and Los Cabos International Airport (SJD).

Porter will be the only airline offering service between Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW) and Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA) as well as Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). Flights between John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (YHM) to Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport (MBJ) will also only be offered by the carrier.
Much of Porter’s expansion has been enabled by the addition of the Embraer E195-E2 aircraft to its fleet. These jets provide the range and efficiency needed to reach deeper into sun destinations across the Caribbean, Central America, and Mexico while maintaining the airline’s signature onboard experience.
In total, Porter plans to operate nearly 5,000 flights to sun destinations during the winter season. This represents an increase of more than 150% compared to the previous year.
Anthony’s Take: Porter Airlines is transforming itself into a major player in the leisure travel market with an expanded network that now stretches across Canada and into popular sun destinations throughout the Americas. With new routes from both Eastern and Western Canada, the airline is positioning itself to capture growing demand for winter escapes while offering travelers more choice than ever before.
