Alaska Airlines is continuing its international expansion from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) with the launch of new nonstop service to Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH) and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) beginning in spring 2027. The new routes build on the airline’s recent long-haul growth, which has already included the addition of flights to London Heathrow Airport (LHR), Rome Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport (FCO), and Keflavík International Airport (KEF) earlier this year.

Seasonal service to Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH) will begin on May 12th and runs 3x weekly through October. The route will mark a milestone for the airline as its longest flight ever and will make Alaska the first carrier to offer nonstop to/from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).
Just weeks later, on May 25th, Alaska will launch 5x weekly flights between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) to provide travelers in the Pacific Northwest with another nonstop option to one of Europe’s most popular destinations. This route is currently served by both Air France and Delta Air Lines.
Both routes will be operated using the airline’s Boeing 787-9. These offer 34 Business Class and 296 Economy Class seats. Complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi for eligible Atmos Rewards members is being added as the technology continues rolling out across the fleet.
With the addition of Athens and Paris, Alaska will serve seven intercontinental destinations from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). These include:
- London Heathrow Airport (LHR)
- Keflavík International Airport (KEF)
- Rome Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport (FCO)
- Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN)
- Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT)
The carrier has also reaffirmed plans to grow its international network further with a goal of serving more than a dozen long-haul destinations from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) by the end of the decade.
We fly where our guests aspire to go, and Athens and Paris have been high on that list for years. As we build to more than 12 international long-haul routes from Seattle in the coming years, we’re giving travelers more ways to connect to the world and more opportunities to use Atmos Rewards. This global growth is possible because of the remarkable people across our airline who take care of our guests and deliver safe and reliable operations.”
Anthony’s Take: It’s great to see Alaska add two of the most popular European destinations to its route map. I’m not going to be surprised if we see Delta counter with its own Athens flights.
