American Airlines is broadening access to its exclusive Flagship® Dining experience and allowing more premium customers to enjoy the airline’s restaurant-style lounge service before departure.
Beginning September 15th, passengers traveling in Flagship® Business and Flagship® Business Plus on eligible long-haul international, premium transcontinental, and Hawaii routes will be able to access Flagship® Dining. Previously, the experience was reserved exclusively for customers flying in Flagship® First (this is expanding as American sunsets this cabin).

The airline is also introducing a new seasonal four-course menu featuring dishes inspired by the regions served through its major hubs. The refreshed dining program is designed to offer a more upscale preflight meal in a private setting within select Flagship® lounges.
As part of the enhancement, American is debuting an exclusive wine and chocolate pairing created in collaboration with KHK Wines and K+M Extravirgin Chocolate. The pairing was curated by renowned chef Thomas Keller and includes a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon served alongside artisan chocolates and hazelnut dragées.
The new pairing will be offered in Flagship® Dining at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Miami International Airport (MIA) as well as at The Chelsea Lounge at New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK). American also confirmed that Flagship® Dining at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is expected to reopen later in 2026.

Anthony’s Take: This is exciting news and something that will better align American with United and Delta. Access to Flagship® Dining remains subject to space availability with guests able to join a waitlist if the restaurant is full upon arrival. The expansion is part of American’s continued investment in enhancing its premium ground experience for international travelers.
