We flew from Cagliari Elmas Airport (CAG) in Sardinia to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) today. Before departing, we had some time to check out the only lounge in the airport known as the Prima Vista Lounge by Aviapartner. This one left a lot to be desired, but provided us with a place to sit and get some work done before heading to the flight.

After clearing security, turn left. The gates and stores are all to the right.

Access

Upon entering, you will find a desk to have your credentials checked. Access is granted to passengers with Priority Pass memberships (these can be purchased or received from holding a ton of different credit cards), those who purchase one-time passes (€30 each or €15 for children), and passengers flying Business Class on Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Edelweiss, Iberia, ITA Airways, and Lufthansa. Visits are limited to three hours. Passengers can also oddly choose just to use the smoking area for €10.

Anthony’s Take: This lounge reeked of smoke and offered the most spartan food offerings I have seen in a long time. That said, it was air conditioned, had a full bar, and restrooms. I wouldn’t come to the airport early to hang out here, but it’s nice to have the space.

Bar

There isn’t a full-service bar in the lounge, but beer, wine, liquor, soda, juice, and coffee are all self serve.

There was a coffee machine as well as cases filled with soft drinks, wine, and beer.

A water cooler was off to the side of the bar.

Food

Lunch was being served during our visit. The food offerings are rather pitiful. Packaged sandwiches, packaged croissants, cookies, yogurt, and whole fruit.

Seating & Decor

The lounge is one room and has a good mix of tables, armchairs, and other configurations around the space. There is also a smoking lounge that takes up half the space. Every time the door opens, the smell of cigarettes wafts in. Decor is very minimal.

This was the only decor.

There was also a TV.

Amenities

This lounge offers free Wi-Fi, restrooms, a departures board (half burnt out and pictured), and the food and beverages mentioned above.

Overall Impression:

I was not impressed with this lounge and we did not stay too long. If you’re a smoker or really want to get out of the terminal, I recommend stopping by this space.
