Tampa International Airport (TPA) has been recognized as the cleanest space in the United States. It earned top honors in the second annual Spotless Spaces Competition hosted by the Association for Cleaning and Facility Solutions.

The award highlights facilities that go above and beyond to create safe, healthy, and accessible environments for both visitors and employees. Tampa International Airport (TPA) stood out among competitors for its consistently high standards and commitment to maintaining an exceptionally clean and welcoming atmosphere.

According to ISSA, the airport’s recognition reflects its focus on delivering a superior experience for travelers while also supporting the well-being of staff. From terminals to restrooms and public areas, the airport has built a reputation for cleanliness that enhances both comfort and confidence for passengers.

This is not the first time Tampa International Airport (TPA) has been honored for its upkeep. In 2022, the airport received national recognition for its restrooms, winning a major award that praised their fresh, resort-like appearance and attention to detail.

The latest accolade reinforces the airport’s position as a leader in cleanliness within the aviation industry, an increasingly important factor for travelers in recent years. As airports continue to prioritize hygiene and passenger experience, Tampa International Airport’s (TPA)  recognition sets a benchmark for others aiming to deliver a spotless and stress-free journey.

Guillermo Meneses on behalf of ISSA, said:

For a region that continues to see strong tourism growth and record passenger traffic, this recognition underscores Tampa International’s role not just as a gateway — but as a leader in redefining what safe, well-maintained public infrastructure looks like in a post-pandemic world. This is more than an aviation story — it’s about public health, workforce safety, and the evolving expectations of millions of travelers passing through Tampa Bay each year.”

Anthony’s Take: I love my home airport and do find it exceedingly clean. I guess when you have spent as much time as I have at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) (among others) there is not much competition. Tampa is so easy, inviting, and apparently tidy.
