Plaza Premium operates the world’s largest lounge network with over 250 locations globally. A new lounge just opened at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) on Level 4 of the International Departures area. It includes the usual amenities including food, drinks, and Wi-Fi, but also has a dedicated area just for First Class passengers.

Plaza Premium Lounge YVR

The Plaza Premium Lounge measures around 10,500 square feet and can seat up to 251 guests total (136 guests in the main part and 119 in the First Class section). The lounge at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is the first one operated by Plaza Premium to have a dedicated First Class section.

Plaza Premium Poutine

While the main section of the lounge will offer a rotating cooking station with items like noodles and poutine served there, the First Class section will feature a la carte dining and more premium cocktails. All guests will find comfortable seating, charging stations, restrooms, showers, and complimentary Wi-Fi. In addition to the dining mentioned above, a buffet will have a variety of hot and cold dishes, freshly prepared salads, and artisanal cheeses. Complimentary soft drinks, fresh juices, locally sourced British Columbia house wines, and premium draught beer.

Access is granted to any passenger with a Priority Pass card, those with certain American Express and Capital One cards, and it will likely be a contract lounge for some airlines’ Business Class passengers. Day passes are available for around $49 (USD). It’s unknown what passengers will be granted access to the First Class section, but access may be purchased for around $78 (USD). Visits in either section are limited to two hours.

While the main area of the lounge is open now, the First Class section will not be accessible until December 2nd. The lounge is open from 7:30 AM to 1:30 AM Sunday through Friday and from 6:30 AM to 1:30 AM on Saturdays.

Anthony’s Take: The lounge looks great and is a welcome addition to Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Plaza Premium operates some nice lounges and I like the concept of a dedicated First Class section.
