Spirit Airlines announced some seasonal additions to its upcoming winter and spring schedules. These new flights connect 15 cities across the continental United States and Puerto Rico.

New flights will run largely in April and May with two routes operating for around a month in December and into January. Here are the latest additions to Spirit’s network:

  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to/from Charleston International Airport (CHS) (operates daily on an Airbus A320 from April 5th to May 4th)
  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to/from Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) (operates daily on an Airbus A320 from April 5th to May 7th)
  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to/from Norfolk International Airport (ORF) (operates daily on an Airbus A320 from April 5th to May 4th)
  • Fort Myers Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) to/from San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport (SJU) (operates Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays on an Airbus A320 from December 15th to January 8th)
  • Miami International Airport (MIA) to/from Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) (operates daily on an Airbus A320 from December 4th to January 9th)
  • Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to/from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) (operates daily on an Airbus A320 from April 5th to May 7th)
  • Oakland International Airport (OAK) to/from Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) (operates daily on an Airbus A320neo from April 5th to May 5th)
  • San Diego International Airport (SAN) to/from Sacramento International Airport (SMF) (operates daily on an Airbus A320neo from April 5th to May 5th)

San Juan

Spirit Airlines will be the only carrier to operate flights between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to/from Norfolk International Airport (ORF) and Fort Myers Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) to/from San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport (SJU).

Anthony’s Take: Spirit continues to offer flights in both competitive and underserved markets. It’s always interesting to see the response from the legacy carriers when low-cost carriers add routes that touch their hubs.
