After our trip to Sicily and Sardinia, we were headed home. We arrived at Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport (OLB) about two hours before our flight to Frankfurt am Main Airport (FRA) and checked out the airport’s only lounge known as the Olbia Airport Club Lounge. It’s a small space located in the middle of a duty-free store, but it was a much cooler place than the stifling main terminal.

Access is granted to passengers flying in Business Class on certain airlines (we were flying Lufthansa and it’s one of the airlines that offers access here) or those with a Priority Pass membership. A same-day boarding pass is required to enter. Day passes are also available for €40 per person.

Anthony’s Take: This lounge was better than I was expecting. It provided a good selection of drinks (including wine and spirits), an assortment of food and sweets, Wi-Fi, a small restroom, and a space that was much more comfortable than the terminal. The main terminal was packed with people and pretty warm. If you’re passing through Olbia, I recommend stopping in.

Olbia Airport Lounge Desk

After entering, there is a large desk with an agent to check credentials and pass out Wi-Fi codes. They’re on tiny slips of paper and only good for one device.

Olbia Airport Lounge Bar

Bar

A self-serve bar is found near the buffet. It included several wines, champagne, and various liquors.

Olbia Airport Lounge Wine

Wines were self serve and all chilled.

Olbia Airport Lounge Coffee

A coffee machine was located near the buffet.

Olbia Airport Lounge Soft Drinks

Refrigerators held various sodas and soft drinks. There were also salads, yogurts, and sandwiches in the case on the counter.

Olbia Airport Lounge Food

Food

In addition to the salads, yogurts, and sandwiches pictured above, there were also lots of baked goods, fruit, and snacks. Even though we were there in the evening, there was cereal being served. My guess is the dispensers always stay out.

Olbia Airport Lounge Bread

Puff Pastry Pizzas, Panadas (a typical Sardinian snack), and Pretzels were available.

Olbia Airport Lounge Fruit

A large bowl of fresh fruit was nearby.

Olbia Airport Lounge Seating

Seating & Decor

There is a good amount of seating and multiple outlets throughout the space.

Olbia Airport Lounge Seating 2

More seating near the buffet.

Olbia Airport Lounge Dishes

A display near the door. There were some other teacups for sale.

Amenities

This lounge offers free Wi-Fi, a small restroom, and the food and beverages mentioned above.

Overall Impression:

This lounge was a good spot to relax before our flight. It offered plenty of drinks and some decent food. My only complaint was that it had many flies buzzing around and shooing them got a bit annoying.
