United is planning to fly to 37 countries in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East this summer. The bulk of those flights will take travelers across Europe including more cities in Italy than any other US carrier. In 2019, United transported almost 600,000 passengers to Italy (according to the Ente Nazionale Per L’Aviazione Civile (ENAC)).

These flights include Milan (MXP), Naples (NAP), Rome (FCO), and Venice (VCE) from Chicago (ORD), Newark (EWR),  San Francisco (SFO), and Washington Dulles (IAD).

  • Rome (FCO): UA507 departs daily at 4:30 PM | UA506 returns daily at  3:20 PM

Washington Dulles International Airport

United also offers daily service to Rome from IAD.

  • Rome (FCO): UA884 departs daily at 5:35 PM | UA885 returns daily at  10:30 AM

Anthony’s Take: All of this direct service likely means that we’re in for another busy summer for European travel. I know we’re heading to Italy in late June (The White Lotus made me want to go back to Sicily (as I wrote here). I give United credit for its route network and all of the holiday flights its offering.
