Earlier this month, Delta Air Lines announced at CES that it would be entering a new partnership with Uber. This is set to launch this spring and you can join the waitlist to be notified when this goes live.
Delta and Lyft have had a partnership since 2018. This will end in April when the Atlanta-based carrier and the rideshare app end the current deal to make way for a new matchup. Uber will begin offering Delta flyers bonus SkyMiles on rides and Uber Eats orders.
Uber passengers will be able to link their Delta SkyMiles accounts to earn one mile per $1 spent on $40+ restaurant and grocery orders placed with Uber Eats and on UberX rides to and from US airports. Uber Comfort, SUV, and Uber Black will earn two miles per $1 spent. Passengers who reserve their airport rides in advance will earn three miles per $1 spent.
Anthony’s Take: I have been an avid Uber rider (and Uber Eats customer) for many, many years. I’m excited and hope that I’ll soon be able to earn Marriott Bonvoy® points and Delta SkyMiles. There is no word if members will be able to keep both accounts linked and earn both, but I’m hoping for the best.
