Last week, I wrote about how JetBlue was offering Delta Medallion members status matches including all of the perks that come with the various levels of its loyalty program. I applied and was quickly matched. Today, I got a phone call from JetBlue personally welcoming me.

JetBlue Status Match

I was on a Zoom call when my cell phone rang. I did not recognize the 800 number and didn’t pick up. A cheerful JetBlue agent left me the following message:

Hi Anthony, this is Anna from JetBlue customer support. I’m calling to personally congratulate you on your becoming a Mosaic member via our status match campaign. We’re so excited to have you onboard as a new Mosaic member. I just wanted to give you a quick call to let you personally know how much your business means to us. Please don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions at 1-877-538-8783. We are here for you if you have any questions. Thank you for choosing our Mosaic program one more time and we will see you in the sky soon. Thank you.”

My Delta Platinum Medallion status was matched to Mosaic 3. JetBlue is clearly trying to kill Delta elites with kindness and in this case it worked. I went online and booked a trip in December for my husband and me. I find this an excellent example of a company making a smart move and working to build loyalty with simple kindness and customer service.

Anthony’s Take: The status matches were limited to 30,000 members or through October 31st. If you hold Delta status and want a match, click here to apply. It looks like the number has not yet been met. I’m curious to see how many people defect to JetBlue. It’s a generous match and a program that will certainly drive revenue for the airline.

I was also matched to Mosaic 3 and received a phone call. While JetBlue doesn’t have first class on most flights, I have booked an extra seat for 2 passengers to share and with free EMS seats for Mosaic 3, its a close 2nd. Very easy to book the extra seat online without calling in.
