Capital One has opened its own lounges over the past few years. It first launched at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) (full review here) and then opened lounges in Denver International Airport (DEN) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) with plans to operate lounges at Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) and New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK). In addition to these traditional lounges, Capital One is introducing what it calls “Landings.” These will be dining concepts and they were first unveiled in October 2022.

Capital One Landings have been developed in partnership with world-renowned chef and humanitarian José Andrés and the José Andrés Group. They will be run by Plaza Premium Group and will offer five-star dining with Spanish tapas and other imaginative fare.

The Capital One Landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) will be 5,483 square feet and located post-security in the airport’s Terminal 2 (at the intersection of National Hall and Concourse D). This is accessible from Concourses B, C, D, and E.  At New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA), guests will find an indoor and outdoor layout that provides great views of the New York City skyline. The venue will be almost twice the size of the other location at 10,700 square feet and will be located within Terminal B (which is also home to the American Express and Chase lounges).

Access to the Capital One Landings should be similar to the lounges. Capital One has stated that Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture X Business primary cardholders will have unlimited access. The lounges grant complimentary access to Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture X Business primary cardholders. They can also enjoy complimentary entry for two guests per visit (it costs $45 per visit for additional guests). Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Spark Miles for Business cardholders receive two complimentary visits in their account per calendar year (additional visits can be purchased for $45) to use by December 31, 2024. Effective January 1, 2025, they will no longer offer access. All other cardholders and non-customers can enter for $65. Children under age two can enter for free with a supervising parent or guardian. Access to all amenities is included with lounge entry. I expect these to follow a similar guideline.

Anthony’s Take: I can’t wait to check out the Capital One Landings. The lounges are great (I’ll be revisiting the one in Dallas this week). Official opening dates should be released soon.

It sounds like a lovely concept. I do worry that 5,000 square feet will mean very long waits though.
