If you’re not familiar, Breeze Airways is a low-cost airline that offers point-to-point flights to underserved markets across the United States using a fleet of modern Airbus A220 aircraft. I recently flew Breeze for a second time and loved the experience (you can read the full review here). Travel & Leisure named it as one of the five best US airlines for the second consecutive year in 2023. Breeze serves 60 cities in 31 states.

Breeze began flying to/from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in June 2022 and has since flown over 160,000 passengers into and out of Fort Myers. The airline now serves 19 destinations from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), including:

As mentioned, this is Breeze Airways’ ninth base. Others include:

  • Bradley International Airport (BDL)
  • Charleston International Airport (CHS)
  • Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY)
  • Norfolk International Airport (ORF)

The low-cost carrier also released news today that March 2024 was its first month of profitability.

Breeze Airways’ President, Tom Doxey, said:

It’s truly remarkable what Breeze has been able to achieve in such a short period of time. In just the first quarter of 2024 alone, Breeze realized several major wins including doubling our revenue year-over-year and launching a co-branded credit card, while running a safe, on-time operation. I’m immensely proud of this team and excited to see where we go from here.”

Anthony’s Take: I’ve enjoyed the flights that I have taken with Breeze Airways. I just wish they flew to more destinations. Once they are on the schedule for somewhere I need to fly, I’ll be traveling with the airline again. It’s great to see them reach profitability for the first time and I wish them much continued success.
