American Airlines announced yesterday that it will make it easier for passengers traveling through Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to get to some popular outdoor destinations this summer. New destinations include Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN), Calgary International Airport (YYC), Jackson Hole Airport (JAC), and Spokane International Airport (GEG).

The new routes will run from June through September. Calgary International Airport (YYC) and Spokane International Airport (GEG) have never been served from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). Flight schedules are as follows:

  • Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) (1x weekly on Saturday; starts on June 8th)
  • Calgary International Airport (YYC) (1x weekly on Saturday; starts on June 8th)
  • Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) (daily service; starts on June 5th)
  • Spokane International Airport (GEG) (daily service; starts on June 5th)

These routes will all be served with mainline aircraft including Airbus A319, Airbus A321, and Boeing 737.  American Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Charlotte Hub Operations, Ralph Lopez Massas, said:

At American, we continuously strive to provide an exceptional network that caters to our customers’ preferences. By adding direct flights from Charlotte, we are granting adventure seekers easy access to new mountain destinations. Our dedicated team is prepared to cater to an even larger customer base, as we proudly serve as Charlotte’s hometown airline.”

Anthony’s Take: Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) has become quite the fortress hub for American Airlines. It’s good to see the carrier continue to add new routes and expand from this centrally located airport.
