The New Terminal One at New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) has announced a strategic partnership with Air Europa. It’s the latest carrier to announce a move during this historic expansion. Air Europa is a Spanish airline. It serves 55 destinations globally and operates nonstop daily service to/from Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD). It will relocate its operations from Terminal 4 to the New Terminal One when the facility opens later this year.

The New Terminal One is a cornerstone of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion redevelopment of New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The project aims to transform the airport into a modern, world-class hub with upgraded infrastructure and passenger experience. When complete, the terminal will feature advanced technology, expanded dining and retail options, and a design focused on efficiency, sustainability, and traveler comfort. The first gates are scheduled to open later this year (with a phased rollout to follow).
Air Europa will become part of a growing lineup of international airlines set to operate from the New Terminal One. Other carriers include Air China, Air France, China Eastern, Ethiopian Airlines, KLM, Korean Air, Etihad Airways, EGYPTAIR, LOT Polish Airlines, Korean Air, EVA Air, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, SAS, and Air New Zealand, among others. This concentration of global airlines is expected to create a highly connected international hub, offering seamless travel options across multiple continents.
Anthony’s Take: The renderings of Terminal One look great. The new terminal will house many international airlines and is the global gateway that New York City deserves.
