JetBlue announced plans to launch its first-ever service to Venezuela with a new nonstop route between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Caracas Simón Bolívar International Airport (CCS).
The airline said the proposed route remains subject to government approval and completion of operational requirements in Venezuela, but JetBlue hopes to begin service before the end of 2026. Tickets are expected to go on sale in the coming months. JetBlue follows American Airlines and United Airlines in bringing flights between the United States and Venezuela.
The new flights would connect Caracas directly with JetBlue’s growing Fort Lauderdale hub, which has become one of the carrier’s largest gateways for travel throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. JetBlue says the route is expected to serve strong visiting-friends-and-relatives demand between South Florida and Venezuela while also providing travelers with easier access to the airline’s broader network across the Americas.

The airline plans to operate the flights using Airbus A320 aircraft featuring JetBlue’s signature onboard amenities, including free Fly-Fi internet, seatback entertainment, and complimentary snacks and beverages.
The Caracas announcement comes amid a major expansion for JetBlue at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). The airline recently unveiled its largest-ever schedule from the airport, adding 11 new destinations and increasing frequencies across numerous existing routes. JetBlue expects to operate nearly 130 daily departures from Fort Lauderdale this summer to further solidify the airport’s importance within the airline’s network.
The proposed Venezuela service would also mark a significant addition for South Florida’s large Venezuelan community, which has historically relied on limited nonstop service options between the United States and Caracas.
Dave Jehn, Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships, said:
Fort Lauderdale continues to serve as JetBlue’s gateway to the Caribbean and Latin America, and we believe there is meaningful opportunity to expand our presence in the region with planned service to Caracas. South Florida is home to a large Venezuelan community, and this new route would help connect families and loved ones with JetBlue’s competitive fares and award-winning service.”
Anthony’s Take: While several international airlines have cautiously resumed or expanded flights to Venezuela in recent years, air service between the US and Venezuela remains relatively limited compared with pre-pandemic and pre-political crisis levels. Options are increasing and it will be interesting to see how these routes perform.
